18z... no real changes with regards to precip location, still looking good for our region. NMM coming out in half an hour should be interesting.

Not got much time to check the data. Just browsing the MetO forecast which has heavy to light snow here on Saturday. NetWeathers forecast which i believe uses GFS shows heavy snow Friday afternoon, all day Sat and into Sunday. Met's warnings don't cover us so still as clear as mud.

Any thoughts?

just been running through the gfs 18z precip charts ( uk precipitation type) this illustrates snow arriving in our region at 6am friday morning and eventually fizzling out 6pm saturday tea time ... 36 hours non stop snow falling, some heavy falls at times too . HC take plenty of money with you for the pub run lol

What is it with Steve murr! I liked him but he's just and others neglecting the north and constantly banging on and on about the south and it's southwards dhift! We desperately need the models to pull it north!!

A question for Ian (TWS) or anyone else who could answer this, the easterly that follows on from this snow event, is this likely to be another "capped" grey cold easterly or could we some convection arising? I used to think that anything below -5c 850hpa coming off the North Sea mean't convection but this winter has shown that its not that simple. Cheers

Rubbish bbc forecast. Looks all over for us. Band of heavy disruptive snow stalling over the central belt of the country. Thts the midlands to me! Just flipping typical! Cnt control my anger!

Paul Hudsons forecast was sensational but u watch it be totally different tomorw n him making excuses.

This really had the potential to be so special with 24hrs plus of snow SPECIAL. But midlands (central belt) it is according to bbc without pushing here.

Adam can anyone with 100% certainty say where its going to go. You should know by now what the Mod threads are like they tend to put the snow in their back yards and bugger anyone else. The maps and charts are looking good for us so sit back and relax

Please don't forget amongst all this understandable excitement, we are still 36 hours or so away from a type of event that can and usually does go to nowcasting....so a bit of realism needed as well.......
