Nothing here just yet although incredibly windy but my dp is still 0.5 so I think we would get sleet with a temp of 4.4 too.

Light snow falling in Belper. Louise Lear on BBC weather said some "frightening" depths by the time this is all done. I would say 30-40cm level snow is quite frightening if you have to drive in it - which i do lol.

Gavin's video forecast is great for here. Also, is he a professional forecaster as he is very good?

Steady rain here in Shrewsbury though.... the snow in Wales is due to the high of the mountains I would guess... if it transisions to sleet/snow here its game on for places east and north of here...

Extremely disappointing event last night/this morning. Had about 1cm of extremely wet snow/slush on grass here, which has all melted.

I don't think Snow will disrupt trains until much later this evening. Worth keeping an eye on though.

It's amazing what a bit of elevation can do. Travelling into London this morning and lower levels were wet with rain but on the Dunstable downs it looked white and they are only around 800 ft asl.

Thanks! Although you would be surprised how little snow they need to totally mess up the trains. At the best of times the train schedules are terrible and even a few cms of the white stuff will push them over the edge. Don't know what I would do if I got stuck in London for the whole weekend. Doesn't bear thinking about.

Pouring with rain now. Sleety in the heaviest bursts, but otherwise just cold rain. Very little white left on the roads. Just been out for a 10-minute walk and it was revolting.

Someone in Swansea is reporting sleet in the Wales thred so that's a good sign , once the temps drop off again in a few hours it will readily turn to snow I suspect
