Yea I can't see where this 24 hours of snow is coming from

The models, and the radar perhaps? Do some reading.

Wow talk about being rude.

I'm just guiding you on where you can understand the situation- you did say you can't see where it's coming from, I'm telling you where you can see it. :)

Me too the wind is going to have to change a very strong south easterly to blow all that stuff in the Irish Sea back over the midlands

"The models, and the radar perhaps?"

That's a factual response and explanation to your post.

Or maybe ones get a little fed up with all the negativity in hear ?! Considering this is a massive snow event tonight that's looking awesome I don't see how ones can still pick and be negative.

Although sometimes it may look difficult to see where all this ppn is coming from , you have to consider we have in effect 3 weather fronts tied into a ginormous area of low pressure , we have a big low pressure to come up tonight as you can see by the faxes for 6am sat morn

The broken warm front to our north is the one that we had last night , that will hover where it is moving south again , the one to our south will stay there and give us continuous ppn, if the radar doesn't look that impressive (even though it does ) don't be alarmed , under low pressure ppn grows and develops out of nothing my friend .

For all of us it should be a very snowy night , and indeed Saturday .

Looks like a line of precipitation has broken out in a line from Cambridge to Sheffield. This is providing the snow across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire (including here in Belper and the nearby Peak District) currently. The main band is now across the SW Midlands with much more following up from behind and moving slowly NE.

Snow pepping up nicely here now :)

Turning to sleety rain here, floor getting wet again - delaying any potential accumulation later. Any idea on what kind of flakes we will be seeing later? Hope it's the big large ones, the mini ones aren't as much fun.
