Latest radar shows the ppn really starting to fragment and weaken over our region.

A very light dusting here which seems to consist of snizzle and sleet rather than much snow. There's quite a bit of snow grain floating around in the breeze. The Manchester snow shadow seems to have done it's job for much of south Manchester and the surrounding parts of Cheshire. I've been out to Wilmslow this morning and it's a similar story.

Atleast the good news is there is no signs of mild weather in the next few days. smile.png Maybe even cloudier weather to keep the snow lying here for days with little melting.

Just driven from Bacup to Bury to drop my daughter of for work and the difference in conditions is amazing.

Had to dig 3 foot snow drifts off the drive here and the main road was single track in places.

In Bury there's a covering at best.

Got home and the hard work in shifting the snow is wasted as I struggled to get back on the drive again.

And it's still at -1.5c.

Probably the more severe blizzard here since the early 80's.......yes we've had heavier falls including 2009 and 10 but not with drifting conditions like these.

May venture out later with the camera as I would immagine conditions are far more sever again higher up.

If the snow is still falling by 9pm I'd be Satisfied and happy because its wouldve snowed here for 36+ hours by then. That is something.

Went to cricket-induced sleep around 2am last night with a mostly snizzle affair and low and behold wake up to a few inches with some higher drifts in places. It's still mainly lighter snow but at least it's not snizzle now. So did eventually join in the party but slept through it lol That said some of the pictures of those really affected are quite spectacular..._66566581_bgamkvzccaaj05l.jpgwow - you only expect pictures like that in US or Japan!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21907837
