Not been out to do any 'official' readings yet but, after an hour or so of dry weather after midnight, light snow has resumed giving about another 2cm.

Even colder this morning with the Davis on the roof mast currently showing -3.7c. The wind has increased again too so the drifting continues.

The snow became intermittent after 2300 yesterday evening but further light-moderate showers this morning put down another 1.5cm. No change in the overall depth though because the snow is constantly blowing and drifting.

Very cold out there and an increasing wind will make it drift even more. Snow depth has gone down probably due to been blown away melt from the warm ground and evaporation.

The early morning snow died out by 1015 and the rest of the day was dry and mainly cloudy with continuous drifting snow in an E wind gusting to 50 mph at times.

With no additional snowfall today the mean snow depth has shown a reduction due to compaction and some of it blowing away.

A third consecutive 'ice day', unprecedented at this time of year in my 50 years of records.

After being mostly cloudy overnight there were long spells of sunshine for the majority of the day before the cloud returned before sunset. We still had a 50% cover at 9am which qualified as a snow day by the MetOffice definition, but a combination of the sunshine, very dry air and strong winds saw it sublime away quickly.

Max Temp: 3.9C

Min Temp: 0.2C

Mean Wind: 17mph E

Max Gust: 39mph

Low Windchill: -5.1C

Rainfall: None

Snow: 50% cover at 0900

Currently dry and overcast with a temp of 2.2C.
