A dry and mainly clear night but with increasing high cloud towards morning. Another air frost last night but only a slight one; the cutting off of the NE airflow and the absence of cold uppers has an immediate effect here as, under quiet anticyclonic conditions, the cold air resulting from nocturnal radiative cooling drains away into the valleys.

Currently dry with hazy sunshine.

Snow cover around 10%.

Not a bad morning, and without that nagging easterly wind, feeling not to bad.

Lots of high cloud which is stopping the full effect of the sun.

Temp 6.0c

Overnight low of -1.4c

A min of -2.6C last night and then a very rapid temp rise about 7:30 this morning as a SE breeze kicked in. A 4C rise in about 12 minutes and you can see the rapid rise in this graph:

Today was mainly breezy with hazy sunshine and a few lower cumulus, higher cloud is now thicker so the sun is not getting through. The breeze has eased back this afternoon.

Wind: 8 mph gusting 20 mph (SE)

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day with max of 10.4c, the highest since the 18th March. It also had a min of -3.7c, the lowest since the 14th March (this was not as cold as the 8th April 2008 but colder than anything between the 11th December 2012 and the 14th March 2013.. which at -4.4C were the joint lowest minima this season and only equaled April 2008).

Mainly clear with an unusually hard frost again last night (third successive sub -6c reading).

Thick veil of Cs today making the sunshine very hazy and weak and eventually blotting it out completely by this evening. Mild sun, cool moderate SE breeze.
