I reckon Floatylight should be the volunteer to show us around the Colchester pubs and bars! biggrin.png

Dreadful place to go for a pub crawl imho. I know that familiarity breeds contempt, or so they say, but for an unbiased opinion, look at the Good Pub Guide and see how few pubs feature. For a town its size it's lamentable. It should be a good place to visit, with all its history, but it just isn't. sad.png Plenty of good options close by though. smile.png

Question for JP. We all await your fax charts but I just wondered how long it takes you to make these forecasts using tonight's at 10.37pm as an example?

Hello all

It is a beautiful morning in Brighton, blue skies with some misty looking cloud around. Looking out to sea from the flat it looks clear for the time being but the forecast is clear that there is rain on the way later. Been out for a quick dog walk and it is pretty mild and so far not too breezy.

It's the marathon here tomorrow, not that I am here for that (!) and it looks as though it will be quite warm for the runners who will no doubt still wrap themselves in what appears to be bacofoil afterwards.....

Hope all enjoy the weekend

Mornin each. Lovely blue sky and sun in Ippy. YAY! Everyone is away on Dartmoor so it's just me, a choccy Slobrador and three moggies. Utter bliss!! :D

I think the seagulls must be affected by the better weather because they are doing very strange things on the roof tops. They appear to be piggy backing each other. Great fun...........:D

Hope you all have a fabulous week-end whatever you are planning. :)

Clouded over in Brighton, but still quite bright.  Time to head for the Downs, then lunch out somewhere before the rain arrives.

It depends on your age Steve?

The youngsters love Colchester.

The good pub guide is not really up pauls street lol x

I think the amount of tourists that come here, bearing in mind I took in students.

Says different.

I think if you live here you do get used to it.

Yes it has it's crummy bits granted but most places do.

It's a shame the castles closed for a year.

But it's having millions spent on it.which is great.

The younger students I had here loved the bars etc.

Well......back in Royston with the kids this weekend. Went to Hoddesdon this morning and the one remaining remnant of the snow from 21 days ago was still there! One small patch of remaining snow on the side of the road near the cafe on the A10 near Reed. Incredible to have seen snow lay for 21 days, more than half of which were in April!!

Can't see it surviving today however!
