    Very windy overnight with gusts past gale force. Dry and mostly cloudy. Cloudy through the morning with a few spots of rain. At observation, overcast, rain stopped. Suns disc visible through vale of Altostratus. Bright and sunny spells developed through the morning and in to the afternoon. Cloud bubbled up enough to produce a few brief light showers here and locally. Windy again, feeling cooler than of late.

    Overcast overnight with a few rain showers in the early hours. The morning was then mostly cloudy but dry with the sky clearing during the afternoon to give some pleasant sunshine. The evening remained clear allowing the temperature to fall rapidly.

    • Exceptional warmth for western Europe as October begins

      There'll be exceptionally warm temperatures for the time of year affecting much of western Europe during the coming days, but that warmth will only graze the UK for now.
