Yea Gods.....it's blowing a right hoolie out there now. It sounds really eerie with the wind moaning around the storage building at the back near the river. Quite exciting really. :D

Hi all,

Mad wind today, but sunny nevertheless. I seem to have rubbish from the entire street in my front garden!

Have a nice evening all

Hi Jan,

Local foxes took a liking to our rubbish bin last night and emptied the entire contents onto our garden. Had a right job this morning, trying to round it all up again. Must have looked a comical sight with me chasing a tornado of plastic, cardboard and paper, as the wind whipped it all into the air, around the side of the house!

Regards,

Tom.

A lovely bright fresh start to the day here today.

Like fools, one of my brother-in-laws and myself decided that yesterday was the day to build my shed base and erect the shed that has been leaning on the side of the old cottage for about 2 months.

Luckily enough, my garden is fairly well sheltered but the mature trees that surround me and give the shelter were buffeted like crazy. Only one large branch came down in a tree between my garden and my neighbour's, I estimate that at it's thickest point it was about 25cms in circumference, so, no mean feet by mother nature!

And this morning? Yep the shed's still standing clapping.gif

Morning peeps!

Well not so bad for wind down here yesterday, with a maximum gust through the day of 39.0 mph. An overcast start but the sun is doing is best to burst through. Not sure what the weekend brings weather-wise, but I don't think it will be a patch on the last one. I'll have a poke around with some charts and see what I can see.

Morning all,

Nice and bright here this morning and I think I've found all the garden furniture now - a fence has blown down over the road but no major damage obvious but there isn't so much blossom left on the trees now !

Happy Friday and have a nice weekend angel.gif

Good morning,

Very leaden skies today, but the wind has died down. Looks like an indifferent weekend coming up.  My poor plants need sunshine and warmth sorry.gif

Morning all.

Cloudy, with light drizzle sums up the current weather.

Have a good weekend all, in spite of the weather. :)

Morning all

In the garden this morning the ground is very soft, the grass too wet to cut and there are leaves all over the place .  All it needs is some fog and the smell of woodsmoke drifting across the land and it would be classic mid-Autumn.  Pumpkin soup, anyone?

Yesterday was overplayed by the METO at least for the coastal area of the region with the windspeeds and general weather conditions as well. I returned later yesterday evening from a meeting and it was fairly windy but (thankfully) there was nothing like the approaching 60mph gusts they kept predicting. The coast afterall was supposed to get the stronger gusts. It was spitting with rain by then around 10pm but the bulk of the day had in fact been very pleasant dry and sunnysmile.png

Hoping to avoid the showers (but more especially any threat of thunderdoh.gif) tonight and tomorrow

Gardening plans may not be as straightforward as the later part of the last BH weekend was.

It's good for strengthening the right arm, though - all that carrying watering cans around...There's been no useful rain here for weeks!

Rubbish autumnal day in Uxbridge, mostly cloud, some sunny spells but wind still pretty lively, had to put my boots back on instead of 'summer' shoes. Booo.....

Afternoon all. I have to agree with the previous posts comparing today with weather more akin to autumn than spring. I hadn't expected it to remain quite so windy here today but it has. Raf Northolt has recorded several hours of gusts in the region of 30mph or above, so a maximum of 16.7c, whilst reasonable, feels anything but. dirol.gif
