You would think with the showery type of cloud around we have had today, would and should have perhaps been pummlled with showers possibly storms but we only had a few the wind's so light that's why things are barely moving perhaps

Oh God, here we go again!! lol. Posted ImagePosted Image

Exactly what I was thinking. The west looks favoured yet the east gets them again. Cursed I tell ya, cursed.

There are a few cells over Northern France which have produced lightning, what would be the chance of them reaching us as they are moving northwards?

On a scale of likely to slim I would say non existant.

Just had a sharp (but brief) shower of hail about 15 minutes ago. That's cause for excitement in these storm starved parts!

Amusing. Max CAPE isn't generated until late afternoon and into early evening, i.e. 6-7pm, so have a little patience. Same thing from the same members year in, year out. Good grief.

But everyone seems to be having fun at least!! :)

Convective weather does it to people, but its the same year in year out that people moan about people moaning :)

Well i've just been for a short walk. Lovely and pleasant with sunshine although i can see distant showers towards Wales from where I am.

Some tall Tcu's appearing on the southern horizon.

Going really well isn't it. Not a single lightning strike detected in the UK yet. Whoa,. This place is fast turning into Florida...

These "free for all" convective situations are rubbish here, CAPE doesn't guarantee thunderstorms either BTW, at least here the dewpoint and humidity seems really low, and also there needs to be some kind of defined lifting mechanism it seems to get a thunderstorm here. Otherwise they all develop in the usual favoured places like the cheshire plain, manchester, and the midlands.

Clouds seems to be more potent now with a few developing into larger towering cumulus. There's also a larger cell towards the SE, Bristol area I think, which has developed into a Cumulonimbus. Hopefully these will get even more strength in the next hour or so.

That cell is currently over me now giving some moderate rainfall (large raindrops).

currently at Frankley Services on the M5 Southbound just south of Brum....messy convection here.....looks a bit better visually to the north of Brum.......Ironic that I'm here, that back home in Wilts things are develpoing nicely on radar...lol.......still...I'm dropping down on the M40 to Warwick, review, and then drop onto th Fosse Way (A429) as the heavy showers breaking out over the home counties/wilts/oxon should drift north westwards in that direction
