We've seen dust before in this area but the crap being dragged off the fields by the inflow is insane LOL.

Looks like the supercell is splitting. One right mover, one left?

Seen that happen once before, the chaser I was watching went with the weaker looking one that was going in a different direction to the rest of the storms, it turned out to be the right decision.

I don't think  you'd know unless you were inside the blooming tornado! Now getting attacked by dust and tumbleweed :D

Also to note is that if it looks like a cell fires further north then it will probably be worth considering- here is the significant tornado parameters currently:

The shear is slightly better further north.

That's the reason we are still sat north by I40. Were not guaranteed to get a storm up here but if anything goes, it's got a decent chance.to tornado. Stuff bubbling away nicely and plenty of time still...

Strong inflow is a good sign, good luck.

Perhaps a cell firing off just to the SE of Amarillo. However there is a good hook and couplet on the Jayton tornado warned storm so worth staying with this for a while to see what occurs.

How unlucky is that, must have been a big gust.

We are making our way back north; hopefully the Amarillo storms can give us a show and send us back to our base in Childress. The southern storm just wasn't doing it and keeping tomorrows target in mind gave it up.

FOXlubbock are reporting significant wind damage in Girard   and a gust of 92mph reported in Jayton

looks a bit of a confusing mess down there - possibly a better angle of inflow now on whats left of the combined ofb near Roby. Amarillo storm seems to be ona a cf/ofb intersection to me -

tn reported a few miles from Roby as it turned out, pretty rain wrapped though I bet - you'd have to be in it, to win it ... Looks like the discreet supercell merger options are now done, and just a lined out mess on that ofb - cant see anything dropping now, but still a small chance. Have a good night all :)

Not sure if anyone has seen the 3Dnator extension for chrome or firefox ?  I've been looking at some of the stills and it works remarkably well from just a 2D image.  Just open the images as if you were going to save them and then right click.  It's a red/cyan anaglyph so silly glasses required but you get the sense of depth needed to grasp the size of things.  Rather sobering when looking at tornado tracks, more so than 2D.

Available in the google store for free...

Game over for us! Thought we might get something from the Amarillo stuff but that seems to have stabilised now. Early start tomorrow anyway for the long haul up to Kansas/Colorado :)
