Any early brightness was quickly replaced by cloud and rain from the north.

Feeling very cold with a significant wind chill for (allegedly) May.

We are under a hail shower now, and the wind has whipped up. Temp dropped to 6c. Absolutely horrible conditions at any time of the year....but Late May...?!

Walked across the car park into work and thought 'that winds icy', I'm sure you're not meant to think that on 23rd May. Fresh snow as low as Glenmore (300m or so) in the Cairngorms apparantly.

Pessimistic maybe, but my gut feeling is that it's going to be worse than last years. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't top 18-20c in June on current form. Wind has eased now and drier but still unseasonally cold. 9c

Beautiful morning - wet, windy and wild and redolent of the best that March could offer. I love this global warming - long may it continue.

Heavy showers and brief sunny intervals with a chilly northerly.

Well below average for May 1971-2000 but probably an above average late May day for the 2011-2040 period!
