A dry and cloudy night with the moderate-fresh NE/N wind decreasing to light-moderate.

The cloud thinned and cleared around 0530 g.m.t and since then it's been sunny.

Yesterday's low maximum of 6.9c already comfortably exceeded this morning.

Saturday 25th May 2013:

 

Clear spells after midnight allowed the temperature to drop low enough for a ground frost. Low 1.6c with -1.5c on the grass. Cloud increased around dawn making for a cloudy start. The cloud broke up quickly through the morning, so by observation it is mostly sunny with just a few scattered Cumulus.

 

Readings at 09:00 GMT:

 

Maximum temperature to 18:00 GMT yesterday: 10.2°C

Minimum temperature overnight 1.6°C

24-hour maximum 11.3°C

24-hour minimum: 1.6°C

Minimum temperature on grass: -1.5°C

Variable cloud overnight with the odd light shower and a continued force 3-4 NW wind. The morning has been overcast with the north wind increasing force 5-6. At observation, feeling cold with light rain, windy. Staying cold and mostly cloudy throughout the day with showers, some briefly moderate. There were a few bright and brief sunny spells, these occurring around mid afternoon and in to the early evening. Windy. Max temp to 18:00 GMT, just 10.2c.

12 degrees, 70% cloud cover with some heavy and looking like light rain is very possible (East London)

Laughable that at midnight the MO was showing unbroken sunshine, 17 degrees with no rain until at least 1pm, in fact their app still shows that despite the reality. Effectively, in terms of prevailing conditions they haven't managed to issue a forecast for today.

Echoing what another new poster said on the day thread yesterday, nobody really has a clue with regards to the weather, do they? Sorry, it's kind of funny to watch the model discussion threads and talk of T120, T180, T240 and seasonal long term forecasts... We can't even accurately and reliably predict the next day's weather!

Min: -1.8c @ 0600 I think this is the lowest reading I have made so late in Spring
