There was some appalling weather for most of England and Wales around the 7th and 8th July 2004 when a depression pushed up from the Bay of Biscay deepened bringing heavy rain and NEly gales. This caused flooding power cuts.

Withering recorded 107.9mm on the 8th July 2004
