shocking grey fest temp 12c,  but technically we are under high pressure so gavin and frosty are kind of right, apart from the sunny warm and temp bit

I've had an hour or so in the garden potting up summer flowers in the sun. It is beautiful out there this afternoonPosted Image

It's improving here too, Tamara; and the cloud-level wind has turned into the west...

Good news as I shall be heading home in the next 45 mins or so - hopefully back to a bit of current bun! Posted Image

A scorching 15.4c here and not a hint of sun. I'm desperately trying to think of something positive to say, but it alludes me. Posted Image

The sun has come out in Dartford and we have beautiful blue sky, got the result re me knees and I think the sun has came out over them, as the specialist has suggested that I should give it a few years before losing my knees. First time I heard this he think I am to young at the moment :-) bad news for wife as she got to put up with the moaning, whinging, groaning and staggering for a few years more. Must admit to being relieved as I did not fancy that op. here's to a better day tomorrow, I must admit today's and the last few weeks have sure been ones to forget.

Yes, typical really. After such a long, cold spring we need some warmth! Some rain is ok but this dreary, dry, grey, cold rubbish is awful. Happens every year. I was freezing all morning on my allotment, and it's 11 days til the longest day.

Psst; don't tell anyone but it was still 14C when I got back to Acle at 5.30pm. Positively tropical - and even a hint of blue sky out to the east! Things are looking up; the wind's died right down and the farmers are busy irrigating.

Yep, the day just got better as it went on here (and not just the weather) but I think I'll give the 4am sunrise a miss and just settle for a more civilized brunch before starting work in the early afternoon !

Would just like to report that I saw a ray of sunshine for approx 3 secs at 6.30pm near Ixworth Posted Image

i don't think there is any point me continuing with the allotment if we keep getting these summers, nothing is growing apart from the onions and spuds, my tomatoes and beans are tiny its just a waste of my time and money and its hard staying patient waiting for things to grow,

or i just buy a massive greenhouse and build it over my allotment which a lot of people are doing now

Another slate grey morning, however an improvement no wind at all, absolute calm.

Got the job of interviewing someone today for a senior position (maintenance manager) within my company, don't really enjoy it, always find it difficult to come up with intelligent questions and more worryingly answers. Worrying now company grown to about 25 employees and still could do with another 2 or 3 good refrigeration engineers, lets hope the hot weather if does comes isn't to severe (nothing above 30c).

I always find its amazing that you hear of all these people who can't get jobs and yet its taken us over 2 years to find a highly paid, but skilled ammonia engineer, lack of training / investment over the last 20 to 30 years by our industry I suppose, we are certainly suffering now, we have taken on an apprentice about a year ago, think we worked it out that to train him up to an skill level where he's not costing us money will cost us over £100k and 5 years of both our times, at which stage he can leave for pastures new if he so wishes, will have to find a way to keep him, he's a good lad so hopefully that won't be a problem, just the thought of investing all that time and money for my opposition gains I find annoying.

You might guess from the above that I have trouble laying in bed and when I get up I am bored as well, hope you all have a good day.

I put up a polytunnel earlier this year on my allotment and am growing tomatoes and peppers in there, they are growing fast :) Everything else is way behind. At least it's not the quagmire out there that was the case last year. We definitely need a change of pattern in our summers, I'd quite happily give up cold snowy winters if it meant we got a decent summer!

Good morning!

A lovely drive home into the sunshine last night but it's been replaced by dull and cloudy this morning with light drizzle.

A series of weak fronts moving in from the West through today will bring more rain to us in the East, depending on where you are this could get heavier overnight:

Maybe clearing in East Anglia through tomorrow to a cloudy but dry day, but rain continuing in the South:

Before it returns again to all areas in the early evening:

Morning all,

It's a bit drizzly here this morning, it's the sort of day that could easily be spent in bed but I'm up now and off for a work out before my 'all day breakfast' brunch...have a nice day folks Posted Image
