Just watched a forecast at 00.57 on bbc news 24 and it was pretty good! They showed all the weather systems moving around the globe and not just that but with added jet stream. You could clearly see how far south it was and how many low pressure systems were heading this way

Shame they don't do that more often or put more effort in

The closest I've seen to what you've described is WeatherView, but that was on BBC One last night at 1.15am (so after the time you specified and not sure if they also show it on News 24) and they always show a lot more. I prefer watching WeatherView - seems to give me a better understanding of the weather than the local forecast seems to. :/

im guessing this was 'weatherview' - the extended weather outlook for the week ahead usually shown late in the night/ early hours. Yes, it would be nice to have bbc weather forecasts lasting a bit longer, with graphics showing the jet streams movements for the next 5 days or so along with the high/low pressure movements.

But as for itv weather - well, what a load of crap. It lasts all of 30 seconds, only covers that day and at best, the next, and the graphics really need updating - im surprised they haven't still got those symbols that they can stick on a board with a map of the uk on and just pull them off again when the day changes!

Don't forget too, there's that "mini-sponsor" ad just before, then -as you said- 30 seconds of weather, then back to the sponsor ad again. All-in-all I think that lasts longer than the actual report. Posted Image Edited by Dale Hay

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
