Ever since I bought John Gould's mighty tome on humming birds some years ago I've found them fascinating. Anyway a little video on them

Beautiful birds.  Fascinating to watch them feed.  So delicate in their movement.

They move in the same kind of way that hover flies do..  I'll show the kids the clip tomorrow.  They'll love that.

Thought I'd actually once spotted my first ever humming bird in deepest SE France one hot Summers afternoon...discovered later it was the Hummingmoth? Certainly convinced me at the time :) not that you'd often think as moths let alone these pretty big, quite noisy ones, be seen during the heat of the midday sun...was easily pushing 90f at the time.

I've observed quite a few of them in the Caribbean, amazing birds and its absolutely mesmerising watching them
