Areas near the Equator have thunderstorms on an almost daily basis because of their tropical climates.

Small convetive clouds have been building in the area since lunchtime 1pm onwards. Some larger cumulus starting too develop now though and beginning to tower upwards, classic cauliflower clouds. Need a storm desperately, this heat & humidity, plus being diabetic is making me feel utterly exhausted, I think I have consumed 3 litres of iced water but managed to sweat twice that amount today. some limited convection here.....fairly strong cap in place though keeping a 'lid' on things......noticably larger TCu to my north over the cotswolds though, am watching with interest

Cu keeps trying to build here west of Southampton but just collapse again - certainly nothing going to happen here.

Had decent Cu building all afternoon here, should be gliding!!! Not towering but quite bulbous/bulky, mainly North/east/south of here, West is all blue (I guess sea air up the Seven)
