We seem to have loads of them here this year.

They are giving their best too, they come in so low you can hear their beating wings...

...fantastic to watch in the evening.

anyone else seeing such shows of them locally?

Yes, I'm enjoying hearing their screeches as I type.

Ideal feeding weather for them I'm sure.

Every year though, they have less and less roofs to nest in with

folks re-tiling and denying them access.

They are just so fantastic and dynamic to watch.

Not sure where they are all nesting, I do know of one local house where they are under the eves.

In the last few hours I've seen what counts as a lot for this area of London - there's been a flying ants' nest hatched out this evening so the swifts and gulls have been about hoovering them up.

It's something that occurred to me! I've seen alot more this year than I've seen for a while, maybe due to the weather a lot more have come north to Britain to breed?
