Wasps getting nasty!

Got stung on Friday afternoon at the pub - first time since i was a teenager.

Created a small red swelling on my arm, but it eased after about 30 mins.

Can't stand the things - they do nothing but bug you in August and Sept. The last 2 summers they were almost non-existent down here, but this year they seem to be about in abundance.

I'm in the panic-camp when one is buzzing around me, flapping my arms in all directions!

If i manage to stun one and it falls on the ground i usually end up jumping up and down on it repeatedly! Which is quite amusing to family & friends, if anyone else is with me!

Doesn't it make look like a bunch of wusses, mate!Posted Image

I adopt the strong stand still and grin and bear it approach in the company of the others, whilst on the inside my BP's are racing skywards. How can something so small bring grown men close to tears. Posted Image

Not seen many wasps this year at all.  Usually they've been getting tipsy on windfall apples.  Plenty on the floor but only the birds and slugs/snails going for them.

Been quite a few in the backgarden. Not as many now with the season coming to an end for them.
