Heathrow no 2

For the statto's here, only just noticed that this Met Office CDL station is included on weathercast now, station number 99099.

Was thinking that it may give an indication whether the official station overdoes temperatures when compared to neighbouring sites such as Northolt, only to see that over the past week at least, it reads even higher - average hourly value 18.67°C vs 18.38°C.

 

Of course being hourly data, the extremes are not recorded but at the main station the hourly ave. max of 23.8 compares to true max of 24.33 so the no 2 hourly max of 24.06 might be somewhere around 24.59.

 

Generally the official maxes have been higher than no 2 hourly values but this was not the case yesterday where the official 26°C maximum was lower than the 26.3°C for no 2 at 6pm.

 

Certainly a station to keep an eye on for high temperatures.
