Morning all,

Happy first day of October....today is much the same as yesterday weather wise but not so busy work wise Posted Image

 Posted Image

A few of you have asked me about a pre Christmas regional meet up again this year..... I'm happy to organise something in Milton Keynes  (or if someone would like to take the job on you're more than welcome to organise it in your home town)

I've set a provisional date of 23rd of November and will be sending those of you who came last year a PM soon but if anyone else is interested please let me know asap and I will add you to the mailing list - hopefully we can get something sorted and booked up soon !

Yes, I'll be up for it. Posted Image MK or wherever.

I probably won't be on this site much, if at all, for the next couple of weeks, but it's only a temporary thing and I'll be properly back in the swing of things, way before the meet. Posted Image

An area of heavy, thundery rain will affect much of England and Wales during Thursday, with the heaviest outbreaks most likely over southern parts of England and Wales through the middle of the day. Expect 15-20 mm quite widely during the day with 30-50 mm in places and potential for 20 mm or more locally in one hour. Just to extend this, bringing it across from the old thread for those that are feeling reckless. Remember no prizes, just the doubtless satisfaction of being closest:

What date will the first visible snow fall to the ground and give at least a light dusting in our region and where do you think that will be?

November 28th. Kent. First snowfall

Currently here in the shire- Cloudy, breezy and Dank. Temp 18c though!

As Annie Lennox said some years ago, 'here comes the rain again'  It started as that horrible fine stuff that doesn't really need a coat or umbrella, but soon builds up to flat hair and damp clothes. It's had the decency to turn into fully fledged rain now and is pouring down at a decent rate here in Benny Hill. I'd like to say it will do the gardens some good, but at this time of year do they really need it?

However, we've had a good stretch of mild and sunny, with only some cloud and fog to dampen my enthusiasm for September 2013 and still a few days of warmish weather before things look like they might become more seasonal. It must be time to check out the web for far-off hot countries where the view is sunny, the food and accommodation are luxurious, the drinks are cold and the welcome is warm

Afternoon all

after a quite bright and at times sunny start the day has decended into a cooler and cloudier theme, ah well, the weather this year once it got it's finger out has been rather good overall, guess we cannot complain too much, tis October after all.

Managed a still respectful 17oC and still dry (for now), need to pop out to the PO before it shuts though (was hoping to just stop in tonight but hey ho)

Maybe a bit too far South and West, almost certainly for our region

Evening all. Lovely start to the day, albeit a tad chilly. Come 11am ish, a bank of heavy cloud banked itself over my location and hasn't moved since.

Evening all,

Sunny morning here, but clouded over by noon. And with the exception of a few glimmers of hazy sun through the afternoon, it was a grey old pm. And we actually had about five drops of rain a couple of hours ago.

In terms of "interesting" weather, Thursday seems to be the day for us south-easterners to watch, huh? I spy "thundery", "torrential" and "convective" in the MetO's warning. First time for a while...

Lets hope it stays that way and happens mate. Knowing our luck in this regional thread, it will turn out as drizzle 💤💧
