Lets hope it stays that way and happens mate. Knowing our luck in this regional thread, it will turn out as drizzle

Yep. The voice of bitter experience is ensuring I'm keeping my feet well and truly on the ground, when it comes to Thursday's possibilities.

A very breezy but sunny day here. It's the first time I've needed a jumper for gardening. Got a bed weeded and worked hard, but still needed that jumper.

I went out around 8pm for an hour or so, and the breeze was very previlent. Just popped outside a few minutes ago, and it's as still as anything. Fickle thing is this weather.... Goodnight

Morning all. Been awake since 5.30 (yawn) because of the very heavy rain battering against the windows. Looks like it's clearing now, which is good for the school run 😄

Have a great day guys

Take a look at the lifted index charts for Thursday... I posted some just now in the convective thread, yellow and a splodge of orange for our regions... at midnight in Oct!!! check out the dew points and temps for night-time.

So what is possible is some summer type thundery action for us later tomorrow, changes of times can be but risk is a large window something like 12 - 15 hrs!

Then there's tomorrow......

UK weather: Flooding fears as torrential rain is forecast

Met Office forecasts that as much as a third of the monthly average rainfall for October could hit the parts of England in a single day

Weather warnings have been issued as some areas face more than a week’s rainfall tomorrow. Storms are likely and drivers have been told to expect hour-long bursts that could cause flooding. Motorists have been warned to take extra care as downpours could lead to surface level road floods. The Met Office said. 50mm of rain could fall in just one day - a third of the monthly average.

A spokesman said: “We could see 20mm in one hour.  you consider we get 150mm in October on average, it’s quite a lot.†The South of England, Wales, the Midlands and North West could all be hit.  the Met Office said: “It should clear by

Animated version of the latest NMM shows the extent and intensity of the expected rain tomorrow for our region, not good if it pans out like this:

Wet Wet Wet here - well, the rain has stopped, so I guess it's actually more damp, damp, damp!

Tomorrow if the projection Robin has posted above comes off may well cause problems for the region by the looks of it - we can't control the total rain amounts, so therefore, I hope there is a rumble or 50 of thunder to accompany it!

Was lovely to hear the heavy rain last night, very few sounds in life more relaxing than that.

I'm hoping the weather clears enough for my flight tomorrow morning, I hate taking off straight into cloud so you see nowt.

The grey continues here, unbroken into the distance with no view past the M40 and the air traffic control tower at Heathrow only partially visible as we drove past; no sign of the rain that some of you have experienced plentifully. 16 degrees on the car temperature gauge, up 3 degrees on yesterday morning. Hard to say much about it really as my last posts over the past few days have reported almost the same weather, over and over, repeatedly, again and again, day in day out, never changing.....
