    Very mild overnight, low just 16c. There was a spell of moderate rain through the early hours. The day dawned damp, mostly cloudy and very mild. Cloudy with drizzle so far this morning.

Staying very mild well in to the evening, 17c here at 22:00 GMT

    Light showery rain at first this morning but becoming dry by mid-morning. Remaining dry, and quite warm, until mid-afternoon when an area of heavy showers moved in from the west, eventually clearing around 1530 g.m.t but followed by one or two light showers.

    Mainly cloudy today, a few bright intervals. INtermittent light rain this morning and a little drizzle this evening but a dry afternoon. Cooler than of late with a moderate SW breeze.

    A rather muggy day here. Sunny spells developing through the day though heavy showers around midday drier thereafter. Winds have now eased. 2mph SW. Top Temp of 19.9c today!

    • Exceptional warmth for western Europe as October begins

      There'll be exceptionally warm temperatures for the time of year affecting much of western Europe during the coming days, but that warmth will only graze the UK for now.
