Very mild overnight, low just 16c. There was a spell of moderate rain through the early hours. The day dawned damp, mostly cloudy and very mild. Cloudy with drizzle so far this morning. Cloudy through the morning with showers around, though this station managed to avoid them. The afternoon saw bright and sunny spells developing but also showers some heavy around the area, again this station missed them apart from the odd light spot of rain. Warm for October.

Disappointing afternoon which was mostly cloudy but dry. Skies beginning to clear again now for what maybe a surprisingly cool night.

Yes the skew-t for Doncaster at 06z was quite different to the actual at Watnall at 00z. The model badly modelled the area between 900mb and 700mb, the actual had it spot on. CuSc would spread out to give a cloudy afternoon. Not a bad lesson in taking the nearest actual 3-d chart rather than the model, taking note of the T and Td, working out the probable convection T/Td and the possible max T and plotting that on the actual ascent and watching the visual sat piccs as they come out.
