Morning Pete, morning all.

Very odd mix of rain and brilliant sunshine this morning, at least the wind has backed off.

Mainly sunny here so far today, chilly at 11C with a strong and gusty wind. Had a weird shower earlier where it was raining but sunny, nice rainbow though :)

A beautiful full rainbow stayed ahead of us for about 10 minutes heading towards Heathrow this morning, possibly the best rainbow against a mostly blue sky I have seen; son tried to take some pics but not sure how they will come out. I think it must be the same rainbow - if that is possible? - that Snow Raven saw from Waterloo. 10 degrees for the duration of the journey this morning, up 3 degrees on yesterday, and the heavy rain that came just before dawn had cleared, leaving lovely blue skies with small pinky-greyish clouds to accessorise:)

Maybe tomorrow afternoon, in the far south, might be the favoured spot?

Had 2 or 3 heavy showers this morning and thought i heard a distant rumble of thunder around half 7?

The radar reminds me of an easterly blast in winter with a big blob of precip coming in off the north sea, heading along the Thames. Everyone then saying look whats  coming behind it from belgium Posted Image

Just come back from doctors, I have a chest infection, had it for 8 weeks now, fed up.More penicillin.

I also have a chest infection and combined with my Asthma it's horrible. Although I like cooler weather it hasn't really helped the situation.Hope your feeling better soon

He already is...bursts getting heavier with time - wouldn't rule-out an odd clap of thunder, either...

Quote Steve C

"The bar was open from 10, so I had a pint of salted fosters there - the salt from the copious amount that had accumulated around my face. Posted Image That made the trip worthwhile.Posted Image I agree with your comments about the ferocity of the wind there. It was the first time I've experienced a true gale for a few years now, rather than mere gale force gusts. "

Salted Fosters??  Could that be the start of a new trend?  Saves eating the crisps Posted Image

Yes, that was a real gale, especially as the wind was concentrated along the roads.  My glasses case fell out of my pocket and was blown about 10 metres down the road before I could catch it
