Looking at the obs on MO Plymouth the wind has dropped to just 9mph. Incredible really considering what is supposedly in the offering!!

Very dull and boring in Bracknell.  Nothing happening and all my friends think this is going to be a damp squib Posted Image

Just my petty rivalry kicking in - I've got nothing to actually back that up!

Dont think the drains are coping to well already! Also if anyone missed the link earlier here is the poole bay Live weather display, Barometer droping fast now! http://www.pooleharbourweather.com/weather/

moderate rain here in Barnstaple, wind has now died back to gentle breeze.  Reading posts on other sites are the high winds most expected along the English Chanal and more the East of the county, rather than here in north devon north cornwal etc? Really not sure what to expect here if anything.

Its been a very confusing day on all threads and other sites.. None are as good as this one though. :)

Aye. Just walked back from the pub thinking i would be battling a gale. Alas no! Been keeping a look out for the forecast for great mis tor on the MO site still predicting 80mph + but at the moment its miles away. I wonder when the wind arrives whether it will arrive like a wind curtain, from calm to full force.

P.S - Local weather station showing 992mb at the moment.

talking of weather stations, there appears a complex weather station on the road out of princetown heading to tavi. Just on the junction of the ashburton to tavi road. Not sure if you know anything about it who it belongs to and if the data is readily available?

Really starting to hammer down now, not sure what it is like down the hill... I know the one you mean, I believe the is something to do with the Met Office. The one I use is this one and Postbridge. http://www.dartcom.co.uk/weather/

I think we are going to start getting hit in the next couple of hours mate...

Very glad I caught Ian's rare Sunday appearance on Points West because the Countryfile forecast was woeful, barely making a mention of the rain overnight and jumping from now to tomorrow morning with just a mention of the wind! Not good enough for those of us trying to plan work!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
