A cloudy start to last night with frequent light-moderate showers which eventually became restricted to the northern half of the Peak District after midnight. Clear periods during the early hours led into a dry start to the morning with sunny periods but cloud has built in the last hour and we currently have a few spots of showery rain falling.

Was a lovely sunny day until mid afternoon until it clouded up from the south.

The front giving rain in the south of Ireland and sw Uk ,the very edge of the frontal cloud is right over me. When i look out my Kitchen which is south facing its looks cloudy outside, when i look out my sitting room which is north facing its mostly clear. Been like that for over an hr so probably as far north as the cloud will get here.

Today is my first single digit max temp of the season. Max temp 8.7c,current temp 6.6c. Last nights low 3.9c.

The showers aligned themselves a few miles to the north of here today resulting in a breezy day with sunny periods and one or two brief showers. 0.1 mm of rainfall from 0900 and over 5 hours of sunshine today, contrasting with Brierlow Bar, south of Buxton and just 16 miles away, which recorded just over half an hour of sunshine and had 11 mm of rain from 0900.

It was dry after 1430 and cloud cleared towards sunset to allow a brief early evening ground frost before increasing Ac associated with a rain area to the south caused the temperature to rise again.
