    Hi everyone.

I hope someone may be able to help me on this.

I have recently bought a house with the remains on an old post mill in the grounds. I have been doing a lot of research into the windmill and found out some quite interesting information regarding some major damage it sustained on 12th July 1918, to quote an old document I found.

"During the Great War it was under Government control and had the misfortune to be tail-winded on 12th July 1918, the cap being taken off and the sails wrecked"

Does anyone know where I can find any charts for this day or find any record of the weather? The old thing I can find is information on a major hailstorm 2 days later in Surrey.

A picture of the mill after the damage:

Thanks for any help you might be able to give me!
