    A few clear spells for a time last night before clouding over before midnight. The day dawned overcast with the odd spot of light rain. At observation, no change.

There was further rain, moderate at times through the morning, turning more showery towards lunch with a few bright spells developing. The afternoon saw sunny spells with showers in the area.

    After some sunny spells during the morning and early afternoon, showers formed and grew into longer periods of light rain, Thick Fog formed down to 170m. Light rain has started to turn moderate at times.

    A dry and cloudy start to this morning, then intermittent light rain setting in around mid-morning. The rain became continuous by early afternoon with a few bursts of moderate rain mixed in by late afternoon. Thick fog developed around 1600 and has persisted since.

    Cloudy with spells of rain and drizzle today, rather heavy at times afternoon. 

    Light south breeze am or calm. Fresh SW afternoon veered moderate NW evening. 

    The warm front arrived 1400 with a 2.5c rise in 45 minutes along with a sudden freshening of the wind.

    2.5C and clear here. Looking like a fourth consecutive frost. Mostly fine today with just a light shower. Max of 6.0C from icy early morning with min of 0.4C.

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

      It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average. Despite a colder drier respite on Monday, staying generally unsettled to see out the rest of the month. But hints of some drier weather in early April. Read the full update here
