Weather Watch For Snow & Gales and Ice

There is growing confidence of a deep, active area of low pressure pushing South during Wednesday bringing blizzard conditions across the Scottish highlands on Wednesday morning with up to 15cm across parts of the Cairngorms and higher amounts in drifting snow.

A band of rain and sleet will push South during Wednesday with a further band of sleet and snow following during Wednesday evening and overnight into Thursday bringing a risk of more widespread snow across many parts of North-east, Northern, Central and later Southern and South-east England.

Accumulations are likely to be around 1-3cm and given the warmth of the ground this is not likely to lead to major complications.

Drivers should be aware of the potential for widespread ice on roads overnight Wednesday and into Thursday.

Evening all, I just had to chase a Heron out of my garden before it snapped up my dads Koi, we have already lost quite a few fish this year.A chilly 3.1c here and dropping quickly with a wind chill of -1c!Just how it should be this time of year (in my eyes anyway)

Evening everyone!

It's been a lovely cold and bright day here today, and since darkness has fallen the temperature is really falling away quickly. It's currently 1.1 here so it's going to be a chilly night. Not expecting to see the first flakes of snow, but it would be a lovely surprise if some of that precipitation that Ian F was talking about made its way this this corner of the south east.

Hope everyone has a good evening looking out of the window in eager anticipation!

Let's hope Mr M has bought a lot more space on his server in preparation for the festivities.

It was punishingly cold this afternoon with the wind from the NNW. If we don't get something tonight I'll eat my furry hat.

Is anyone else having problems with the forum time?

I've just clocked some of my posts, the forum states that the post at the top of this page was posted at 17:07, and then a few posts down theres a new post with a timestamp of 53m ago, then each post after that the minutes go down as normal.

But my timestamp of 17:07 is surely wrong?! and other time stamps after that. Posted Image

EDIT: Think I've sorted it, time zone was set to GMT+1

Evening all

Well today was a bit of a shock to the system, when I walked out this morning to take the children to school.

After debating (me telling) my 4 year old son for 20 mins that he needs to wear his hat and scarf to school, I think the penny finally dropped when we left home! He still managed to have the last word though... As he was walking into his class, where I can't go he said 'I'm not wearing this at play and lunch time' the little so and so 👹

Been spoilt today with lovely clear skies, and a bright sun, which was quite misleading from the office window. When I went out for the lunch, that wind was biting, so instead of my ham salad roll, I nipped to the chip shop for some warm comfort food 😇.

Current temp 5c and a windchill of 2c.

Off out for a run in a bit to burn off those scrummy chips.

A question for the mods.... Is the avitar at the bottom of the screen where you can see who is on line going to be disabled all the time during the hopefully busy winter months?

Cheers

bits of the forum often get disabled in busy spells, I assume you mean the who is looking/logged in name list?

Cheers

(We may have to move this to the new thread)
