Christmas 2013 the third washout mild one in a row - payback for the three wintry ones in 08-10 I feel...

Christmas 2013 was a mild washout?It was pretty dry overall, at least it was here anyway. I can't remember the last washout Christmas around here. It wasn't mild it has to be said as well. December ended up be warmer than November. First time since 1949 that March was the coldest month of the year?

I wouldn't say that there were no extremely mild spells, although it's true that just one day was in the 10 warmest percentile. Lerwick had its highest ever December temperature and in Scotland, temperatures were routinely in the teens.

Definitely a notable month for its persistent mildness and it being so cyclonic - do we ever get a month's average of air pressure? I reckon December's would be one of the lowest ever.

No days recorded below the 1772-2012, and only 1 day below the 61-90 average, Christmas day (4.2C compared to the 4.3C average).

Scores now ready , apologies for the delay, completely forgot about this.

With such a mild month, no one got it spot on, the winner was Stu London who was 0.3c out.

 

Stationary Front and keithlucky were both 0.4c out and are now 2nd and 3rd respectively overall.
