Yes I noticed that before, a few spots of rain fell!

I always loved that saying 'spotty snow'!

Unfortunately chance of snow on Merseyside is slim, as the air will be modified with a sea breeze.

 what is spotty snow lol

C.S

It means snow here and there, just a few flakes here and somewhere else. Also termed "A few flakes of snow blowing in the wind"

-1.7c and still falling slowly here in Bacup and after a very cold day the snow is still covering the areas which were shaded from the sun.

No signs of cloud moving in as yet so there's a good chance we could be looking at about -3c before the rain arrives and things start to warm up again.

To be honest, I can't see us getting much in the way of snow, even at our altitude but ice may well be a problem again in the morning.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt we'll see anything on Merseyside tonight, although tomorrow evening does look interesting.

Yes, I think evap cooling will play a big part if the precip is heavy enough.

0.8C here still; icy rain may become a temporary problem depending on how quickly that bulk of PPN arrives, falling onto (near) frozen surfaces.

Some warmer air tied in with this front unfortunately, or we'd be looking at a nice snow event, pretty unusual considering it's coming from the north west, although at this time of year you can expect it with plenty of sea modification.  Back edge snow remains a possibility with the colder air catching up behind, although it'll be a minute amount..

Possibility also of some light snow showers tomorrow for a time after the front moves through, interesting.

Damn snow.Took ages to clear the stuff from the car this morning, the roads were like ice rinks and our drive is still covered in it.Roll on spring.Only kidding but it's amazing how much chaos such a small amount of snow caused around these parts.

Your a tease lol.I was laughing at her indoors outdoors this morning defrosting the car i did help eventually but she has one of those pink glove scrapers im not using that lol

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
