Why are the english forums full of posts? They've got nothing to look forward to.

Possibly because this is a weather forum and there's always weather happening?

Also, a general reminder to all to keep snipes to yourselves, and any issues with any posts or members in particular should be dealt with using the report button or a PM to the team.

Thanks :)

Don't even talk about it I'm exposed to anything from the north/ northwest. Scandi high no use for Ireland as it rarely reaches us but u can get a good easterly from a Greenland high, but then I suppose I'm further east than u pom!

Further downgrades today, with the latest GFS shows no snow for smithyweather.... ensembles are a little better though.

Didn't mean to bother you buddy! Of course it will snow and snow risk is 60% doesn't really make sense though.

Here's an animation of the precip and upper air temps, from 6pm Thursday to 3am Friday, no snow shown and no -10C uppers. A few sleet showers are looking most likely now, but as I said, the ensembles do look better in general.

Well I remain optimistic of seeing some wet snow on Thursday at some point. I don't think the thicknesses matter as long as they are not excessively high.

I have seen snow with 544dam before. (534dam is the highest thickness we get)

Think the showers will have to be heavy.

Nae hae snow over north coast.

I don't think i've ever seen a situation like this where we have 530dam heights with -8c uppers. Dew points are -3c yet people are saying sleet. I will have to get a professional opinion.

No! They are not right and someone said their forecasts are computer generated. This is a volatile siutation; there could be rain or snow. It is very close.

I have set up a thread to see.

Jesus Smithy you're tough going. Convection will be very shallow due to a large mid-level inversion and surface pressure building, so although you may have your -8 C T850s at a push, that is no guarantee of precipitation.

Nice morning here, sun is coming out but its pretty chilly! Just hovering around 0 degrees. These are my favourite kind of winter days (apart from the days were it snows!)

Agree Juuyoku. My cycle this morning (after the initial sting of cold) was most refreshing and awakening. Used to love walking to work after heavy frosts on barely lit mornings over the last few years, and look forward to more.

Agreed guys, beautiful morning, so nice to see blue skies and the sun again!

The early hours of this morning saw the first measurable rainfall here since October 20th, quite a remarkable dry spell for late Autumn.

It's a gorgeous day. "Weather" doesn't just mean cold and snowy weather, it's all interesting and enjoyable - well, to be honest, some is more enjoyable than others but a day like today is near the top of the list.
