The early part of yesterday evening was quiet and chilly with a ground frost but from about 1900 it became unexpectedly ( well, I didn't expect it ! ) windy and much milder. The wind increased to f6-7 NW with a gust of 51 mph at 0151 but then decreased to just a moderate breeze by this morning.

Clear periods alternated with patches of cloud overnight but the temperature remained above 6c from 2000 onwards and eventually reached the 24 hr maximum shortly before observation time this morning.

Currently it's dry and sunny with a broken sheet of St earlier having dispersed in the last hour.
