Contrary to many on the MAD thread, I thought today was a decent enough day, plenty of sunshine (especially during the afternoon here), more to come over the coming days. At least it isn't overcast all the time.

Agree with you there CS as the sun was nice but you could still feel the nip in the air and tonight well the temperature is really falling so the boiler has gone up again, this is normal winter weather and I can remember Decembers with the temperatures of nearly 14c a number of years ago.

this is where forecasting frost is a headache for forecasters

although uppers look warm

when the skies clear frost is always a risk

also fog is the tricky one as well

evenin' all! the plus side of this weather is, i've managed to spread the 10 tons of gravel we had delivered over my driveway, so no more mud!

early days yet for winter, i've always thought this one will creep up on us then let rip with a major snowfest. here's hoping i'm right.....

Another very nice sunset here, but not quite yesterday's spectacular effort. It's a pity yesterday's breeze made the river a bit of a mess! It would have been much nicer with the much calmer conditions today.

I agree with CS; nothing boring to me in today's weather (or at least the afternoon) with nice sunshine. Hopefully a crisp frosty morning coming up, so wintry of sorts. Posted Image

You're a bit good with tht camera Steve, I add to the consensus that it was a good day today, we have plenty of time to see what the weather will bring.this winter.

As an Aside, two weeks ago the sea temperature at Happisburgh (pronounced Hayesborough) was 12C, today, after last weeks storm it's 6.9, huge influx of cold water from the North

fax charts that i have at present

tonight frost or not

look outside Posted Image

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

tomorrow

Posted Image

a weak south-south westerly

still under continental air so fog am to the south of the region possible

other than that it should be dry and mainly sunny

temps

Posted Image

somewhere around 10 degrees

rainfall

Posted Image

ukmo show some drizzly bits

i would say more likely southern coastal areas more like than further inland

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

tomorrow night

Posted Image

a weak more southerly flow

expect fog again more southern regions

looks likely frost is possible where cloud clears

looks dry

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

wednesday

Posted Image

a weak southerly flow

here i would expect more cloudcover from this set up

temps

Posted Image

somewhere around 8-11 and the lower where fog and cloud persists

rainfall

Posted Image

none

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

wednesday night

Posted Image

a slightly more breezier southerly wind

so fog and cloud more windspread for our region

temps

Posted Image

i would reckon temps holding up due to cloudcover tonight

however the far north and north east of the region may see a frost (low risk though)

rainfall = nil

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

thursday

Posted Image

a breezy more south west flow

fog issue receeding

cloudcover still looking likely though

temps

Posted Image

again varied between 9-12 degrees

rainfall

Posted Image

nil at present

update the rest later Posted Image

Eagerly waiting for a pattern change, looks like another 240hrs judging by this evenings outputs. The only positive out come is if we get a quick switch around is the North Sea is around 10 to 11C at the moment. So if we are lucky enough to get some -10 uppers quite a temp difference should get the old Thames streamer maybe up to the 2009 sort of severity.

Yes, I wasn't really having a dig at anyone. I know we've been favoured weather-wise today, so people moaning on the MAD thread may well have had a point, if they'd been under dreary skies in other parts of the country. Posted Image

Yes, dreaded cloud seems to be a default at this time of year. I'll try and get out over the next couple of days before it appears (if it does of course)

Is the consensus on Xmas that it's likely to be unsettled and possibly stormy now? I'm going to be in Snettisham, in Norfolk, for five days then. I'm suspicious about the internet availability there, so might not be wishing people here a happy Christmas etc.

Wow - blue skies, sun and daylight today! Not had to have the room lights on at all...first time in....oooh four-five weeks? Posted Image

This is due to a combination of two facts:

Firstly all the trees surrounding me have now finally lost their leaves to permit more light into the previously  "shadowed bowl" I live in and

Secondly...we have had sunshine all day today Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Just stocked up on windscreen de-icer

Piggies all snug and warm waiting to be cleaned out tonight whilst Game of Thrones is run on Sky+,  ready for green recycling pick up tomorrow......eermm that's the cage litter not the piggies IYSWIM

As for me..I'm still coughing like I've got the black plague Posted ImagePosted Image

Stay healthy everyone...there's some nasty bugs out there at the moment

xxxx
