Knightrider,I think we could see a 70mph somewhere between 9-11 on the coast..

That is feasible yes particularly out in the estuary (watch out Southend) and up the East Anglian coast as the low pulls away into the north-sea, also worth noting that there could be another sting jet effect behind the main band of rain just like what happened during St'Jude. I don't see inland gusts getting much above 50mph though!

I asked before about Yarmouth as I thought I remembered a post a few days ago saying it would impact here.Well, over the course of the past couple of hours, the gusts have been getting stronger, not frequent gusts but strong when they occur, and not yet gale force or even close, but they seem to be getting stronger all the time, so i wonder what it will be like in the early hours if it keeps up.

The Jetstream is throwing a succession of deep low pressure systems our way over the next week or so possibly more, after tonight's storm another spell of wet & windy weather is set to arrive later on Friday and lasting through much of Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be a little calmer but still a little blustery with lots of showers then it's all eyes to Christmas Eve onwards as a big low pressure is predicted to swing across the country with the centre positioned somewhere over the Midlands with the strongest winds as always on it's southern flank. Currently it looks like the system will have a central pressure of approximately 945mb equivalent to a strong Category 3 hurricane, whilst winds probably won't be equivalent to that they will nonetheless by our standards be pretty exceptional. Could see widespread storm force gusts of 70mph or more!

Blimey. Man United and Stoke temporarily called off due to the squall line going through. They had some serious hail!

Looking forward to it here.

About half an hour since i wrote last post, friends in London called and said a squall of rain and strong wind went through, also reports its bad somewhere along the London-Brighton line (other friend was on train, didn't know where exactly).

Southernman called from Reedham its raining quite hard and the wind is so strong that the ferry is fighting to get across on the chains. He held the phone up so I could hear it, it sounded bad.

Not so bad here, gusts of wind are stronger and tighter together that's all.

I don't know if its raining or not, I can't hear it if it is.

It's calmed ever so slightly here now but the rain is getting heavier I think it might start squalling up in the next hour or so and peak around 10ish but I'm no expert, not sure if the main heavy band of rain has gone through yet or not but it's been raining steadily since about 6 and is now getting a bit heavier oddly enough though the wind has fallen quite calm.

hi knightrider

this is a watch and see situation at present

it looks like pressure will get tightened on the isobars from 9 onwards

probably making stronger winds likely to the east of the region ( your area)

around 12-1am

got really heavy rain here and the wind has certainly got up now

lets hope it only gets to figures no more than 60 as trees could start

falling due to the ground being saturated

Not a clue, but looking at the radar it's coming this way. 9ish maybe?
