Yes, me and the car are fine, but I keep 'seeing it' in my minds eye and it won't go away. That's the worst bit.

Hi Lauren Glad you are ok ,I hit something the other day with less dramatic results apart from a slight vibration now at speed,me thinks a knocked off a balance weight or I distorted the wheel, trouble is I can't get anywhere to have it checked for a while, don't think its a tyre but can't see anything.I would get yours checked out asap as you could have some damage.I came upon a ambulance stopped in the slow lane of the M2 over Christmas and in front was a people carrier on its roof, quite shocking to see but could have happened through the same reasons so I think we have both been lucky. Chris

Just wanted to say be careful out there folks, driving is surprisingly hazardous with all the water and debris. I was nearly in a major crash earlier. I hit a piece of debris that went flying under my wheel and made me do a 360 in the middle of an A road, go across the verge and into the oncoming traffic and then back onto my side of the road. Luckily the road was pretty much deserted because I dread to think what would have happened otherwise.

Just echoing other people's posts Lauren glad you're ok. Charlton sorry to hear abut your neighbour but glad to hear about the new arrival.

Wasn't too bad I guess today. Maxed out at 54mph plenty more rain on the way by the looks of it but maybe, just maybe some beter signs deep in FI. We shall see what happens, definitely a case of more runs needed.

We had my husband's nephew and niece to stay just overnight from Berlin - both are confirmed city dwellers so Suffolk at its best was a wonderful change - luckily they arrived yesterday in time for a lovely walk - really sunny and frosty so it couldn't be better compared to today.

The nephew said he really didn't want to go back as he loved seeing the trees fields etc. But Berlin-Stansted is only £50 so we said they could come over any time they needed a break, and we'd quite like to see Berlin (which is cheaper than London) so that is what we'll do. I'm really into spy novels and they said Checkpoint Charlie is still there and just the same, so I can pretend I'm in a John Le Carre novel.

All in all a good Christmas thanks to the weather which didn't look too promising. In fact I don't care if we don't get snow, cold and ice is good enough for me. So if the strat warming delivers the goods I'll be very happy indeed.

Happy New Year everyone (2013 has been horrible - two members of my family died in Jan/Feb and my best friend in the village died in May) so hopefully 2014 won't be quite so tragic fingers crossed.

Flea treatment ???

We've just spent £250 on our cat Timmy as what looked like a cat scratch was actually two deep canine puncture wounds from a fox or badger! The bite got infected so poor Timmy's had to spend 2 weeks shut in the boiler room while the bite heals up - the vet did an operation to clear the infection and we've had to flush it out with salty water every day and give him pain killers, but now he's fine again and there's only one little hole which has almost closed. But he doesn't look his usual self with a shaved side.

He can come out and be back with the other animals by the w/e. My friend made him a toy - it's a film case with a little hole in the side which dispenses little cat treats if you roll it around - he's got the hang of it now and I have to fill it up every morning. So it's not too boring for him.

That is horrible... it was exactly the same when I had the one and only (touch wood) accident, I was distracted by something and went slap into the back of someone's car as they'd stopped to let someone turn right - years ago now, but I kept thinking about it and couldn't get to sleep for months afterwards.

All you can do about that depressing forecast is look at some of the traffic cams in British Columbia....

Yes it's pretty gloomy there too, but at least they've got snow.

Aaarghh....Phew -Guulpp....Rant...!Well what can I say?????

Today we have learned that the Sewage Pumpimg Station in my back garden has FAILED!...the alarm  didn't go off as programmed...and the Engineer is now  " 3 hours late and counting " from his second requested call-out ...... and our gardens are now full of un-mentionablesOwners and guests currently  keeping their legs crossed...we can't flush the loos let alone wash/dishwashy.......and to add insult tot injury we also  just had have a 2hr power cutAlso - EA  bless them, rang me today - re prospective rainfall/  flooding for SE on wednesday.....NOT GOOD!I am most worried about the fact we Hoomans have had to raid my New Years Eve booze bubbly supply tonight owing to interruption in services. At least Uncle Numpty now knows how to play cribbageThis weather hasn't finished with us yet!
