Quite a few sferics detected out in the channel on those showers heading into Solent and up towards London/Home Counties regions.

I wonder if the definition of the term "white Christmas" could be stretched to include lightning Posted Image

Merry Xmas to all. Spending the evening prepping veg of course but it is rather cosy, and nice not to be on weather watch after the last few days. Neighbours trampoline has had it, but a  kindly tree surgeon left a pile of logs down the road so we have stocked up. Amazing how quickly the fallen trees have been dealt with. Hope anyone dealing with the aftermath gets through OK and has a memorable xmas day, if not a conventional one

In-laws still without power, looking unlikely they'll get it for tomorrow now! They had to break the garage window to get the frozen food out and it's now at my sister in laws place. If the power is not back then she's going to cook for the whole family! Poor thing!

Oh we've just had some lightning and thunder! What a day!

Yes, really hoping everyone is OK - what a rotten Christmas some people are going to have. Puts everything into perspective really!

Is there anybody in Tonbridge who can update me on the flooding my daughter has a flat in cannons wharf in wharf road and she needs to get home to empty her bucket because she has a leak in her roof too. Thanks.

I believe the affected areas are Avebury Avenue area and River Walk.
