4mm fell last night so our total now stands at 9mm to the 2nd

This will increase as we had further rain overnight and early this morning

    35mm to the 8th

    81 to 10 average is 41.1mm

So unless we have a much welcome very dry second half to the month we are likely to finish a good bit above average

    43.7mm up-to the 15th in Darlo

    1981 to 2010 average is 41.1mm

With 15 days left we could potentially end up well above average

65mm, Average here is about 75mm so it seems certain to be above that.On average, January is the usually the last wet month here until June.Any of the spring months can be wet, but are often enough rather dry so the average for each of the next four months is around 50mm By June convection events can give large totals in a short time. Our wettest month is August (av. 100mm) for the same reason.

Yesterday brought to an end a spell of 22 consecutive 'rain days' ( 0.2 mm or more ). Had it not been for the  0.1mm recorded on 28th December it would have stretched to a record breaking 33 consecutive days.

A top 10 finish looks likely, maybe even top 5.

Sunny Sheffield up to 92.3mm should be a hundred by the end of the day. :) We've got 14 months ahead of us. So no records here.

223.8mm for January and obviously the year so far. When I looked at the figures about 10 days ago, 400mm had fallen in 49 days, pretty much half a years rainfall. :O

I've only got 89.6 mm on the website but i think it might have been down for 12 hours yesterday but yes our wettest January since 2008 could be on the cards.

ETA:We've got thunder, lightening and hail going on as i type
