Yes looks like my earlier fears may be a tad premature as the air appears unstable enough for showers to pop up anywhere. so keep a look out snow could fall almost anywhere from now on tonight

Much more westerly element to the wind now too which is good.

It's dropped from 8.6c to 2.4c in 3 hours here in Swindon, that is quite impressive without clear breaks in the sky and a westerly!!!

Just had  a very hvy hail shower plus a few wet flakes towards the end of it .looking at radar it seems these showers are firing up very quickly over the bristol channel .if we can get some lines of more organised ones later tonight we could see a white morning ,but we need some good shower activity ,but hay its a start .Posted Image

Tony from the Wales thread provided this link a while back, very handy for local weather reports. Also has a radar on it as well, not sure if the rain/snow indicator is real or generated from a model.

Good Luck to everyone, snow hunting tonight, after the rain we have all had, we deserve a bit of luck.

Just had a very heavy shower of hail and sleet. left an icy deposit under walls and window sills. Temperature just 3.1C and now with a dew point of 0.6C.

This blob of cloud which is currently West of Ireland could become interesting if it holds itself together as it hits our area around dawn tomorrow.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
