And after a wet afternoon we have a cool dry evening, until the next lot of rain arrives that is.

There is a video on the Sky news web page which was taken for their helicopter.

That was Chertsey Lane thats been flooded once already this month... And Walton on Thames where my Nan lives but shes solid as a rock and her house won't flood :)

I actually did not know how bad it really was in my area.. I feel that I am in a slight "oasis" of dry land... I wonder for how much longer? Posted Image

The reporter was up in the helicopter. Camera's were looking down at Thorpe Park and surrounded areas. They flew round large parts of Surrey. Your house was down there somewhere. Are you flooded yet? :(

Evening all

I just walked back from dropping my car off at the garage for its MOT, and there were clear skies, no wind, and just staring to get a bit chilly, a nice winters evening here in Southend.

The calm before the next storm!

Cheers

If i was any use at paintshop pro i could photomontage Eric Pickles as a giant sandbag laying on the banks of the Thames (just saying) :)

No offence to nobody posting this here as I feel I will cause a big spark else where, but there are some real newbies posting charts they don't really understand and commenting the wrong things on them.. FAIR PLAY to them though for giving it a go and having an opinion but people get too tied to runs to easily, I think people should understand how we view our weather and how it works run by run model by model... We have some world class posters on the forum that know far more than 75% of people on here. But some people scare and worry others with some posts that they just don't really get..

But what can I say I just post charts up write a little and panic Posted Image

Like this one..

Everybody has been oblivious to this all day.. and getting to bogged down on the bigger threat Wednesday... But peeps in the southern most part of our "diminishing island" are at threat from some pretty strong westerly winds tomorrow morning on rush hour...

The situation to the west and south of London is the worst I have known it. There is water appearing in areas for which there are no flood warnings in place. The A22 at Kenley just outside Purley is shut due to severe flooding around the water treatment works, they are currently pumping water into a pedestrian underpass. The river Wandle in south London burst its banks this afternoon leading to flooding in Carshalton near Sutton:

Little has been said but most of the capitals water supplies come from the risk areas above Hampton Court lock. This is the situation near Hampton treatment works: http://teddingtontown.co.uk/2014/02/10/river-thames-level-expected-to-rise/#comments
