Temperature is on the high side for snow even here, looking at latest forecast I don't think we have much hope really. Posted Image

The rain has just started here, dry to heavy rain very quickly, temp is 7℃

The models were showing some largish totals yesterday, that has changed on the latest runs, the radar shows the band of rain to be narrower than first thought.

In the 12 minutes since I posted, 1.6mm fell, 26mm/hr rate.

The low went through here just after midnight. The METO forecast was spot on. The wind then picked up but not too bad as the highest gust during the night so far is recently at 49 mph.

Currently a line of heavy showers.

Temp 5.6C

Wind W 30mph gusting 49.

Scilly Isles have really been blasted overnight

A gust of 74mph at 3am

Center of low can be detected.

Places in Devon, getting East winds

Places in Cornwall, getting West winds

Reminds me of sea breeze convergence

I cannot believe I am looking out of the window at a virtually clear blue sky! There is cloud to the N/E nearer to where it is still precipitating but anyone would think it was set to be another fine Springlike morning rather than having a LOW centre spiralling over the region!

Total cloud cover here, rain came through at 02.00am, wind did not seem too bad. Roll on Spring proper, had enough of the rain now!!

Very interesting radar loop actually, as it's very clear to see the rain swirling around what I would assume is the center of the low?

You wouldn't get sea breeze convergence running east-west in Cornwall. The A30 is the noted convergence zone.

Yes and it is gradually swirling back around towards West Wiltshire and will soon arrive back in Warminster.

Beautiful morning here in the centre of the low. Posted Image

Enjoy it John, low cloud here now and expecting rain soon.

Cheers Andy. Lapped it up first thing before work.

Stuck inside now, but I can see your cloud making it's way down here. In fact, it's justing knocking the Sun out as I type.

Plenty of sleet showing up, and some freezing rain this morning too! Did anyone over high ground get lucky?

Rain has turned a little sleety at work (100m) I expect higher ground to see something wintry out of that heavier ppn moving through region now.

Apparently one of my colleagues said Frome had snow and a covering about 1.am, I was asleep so can`t verify.

Wouldn't surprise me because it was cold and the initial precip was very heavy around midnight - 01.00, we were woken by rain.

Could be interesting as the heavier stuff edges S/SW this afternoon, temp down to 3.7c now and a colder NE wind digging in.
