Of course, now being in March, homegrown convection can give a boost to showers with thunder/lightning increasing in possibility/likelihood. Best make the most of these convective days though if high pressure is about to arrive.

Having collated my stats for February it truly has been a ridiculous winter!

664mm of rain, only 19 dry days, of which 8 came in the opening 12 days of December!!

And March already has nearing 20mm after today's heavy rain!

BBC forecast ramping up snow for the moors tonight. Believe it when I see it!

With all this rain today and this evening surely flooding will be a major issue once again with saturated ground and no where for it all to go...

Wareham quay is flooding again. 17mm has fallen today and perhaps more from showers tomorrow. It turned out wetter than I thought it would be!

Is it wrong to have been mildly excited by the very wet sleet on the windscreen in Warminster at 7.25 am this morning? Is that a measure of how snowless this winter has been!

Best (i.e. hardest frost) of the whole winter arrives on the first day of spring.

Roll on 2014-15 winter...

Not wrong at all lol, thanks for the wintry precip info for Warminster as I had got to Trowbridge for work by then and it just poured with rain for 45 mins! Otherwise a fine morning, particularly once the cloud had cleared by 09.30 .

Nice and sunny, a few showers but nothing amazing.

There was a touch of mammatus on the back of a shower earlier..

Very high spring tides at the moment

This morning, the sea was fairly calm, but with a big swell building, and the pebble ridge at Westwood Ho! was overtopped again

Sea has become more rough during the day, and back it comes

High tide is 7:30pm, still more than two hours away, and see how high it is already

More than a touch I'd say Posted Image , now should we really be talking about such things on here, touching mammatus? Or should we moo-ve on to udder topics. Posted Image

Sorry just a few moments of silliness from me, back to normal now, time for a lie down. Posted Image

Errr, no joking ... we actually had settling snow here at sea level last night! Virtually all gone by morning but still present in corners of gardens/roofs. Anyone else got some?
