A rather cold day over all. Pleasant enough in the morning with plenty of sun around but light to moderate showers in the afternoon some with hail kept a lid on the temperatures.

Started sunny then clouded over and the best part of the day was written off under unpleasant grey cloud and wind. Now the sun has popped out again.  Zero convective activity and not remotely cold with a max of 8.6C though felt far colder due to the wind but nothing new therePosted Image

Heavy snow showers earlier had over 1 inch of snow, nothing to the hills to the south which makes a change.

Max of 6.7c as the showers turned to just a wintry mix of rain, hail sleet and snow, quite a surprise this morning, but half expected it.

A few light sleet showers early this morning which moved away by 0930 leaving the rest of the morning dry with sunny intervals and gradually building Cu.

The afternoon was one of sunny intervals and short showers of rain, hail and sleet, the heaviest of which was around 1820 and left a covering of hail on the ground.
