current state of play, with heavy showers developing over the Midlands, and more thunderstorms brewing over the English Channel heading towards the Dorset/West Hants coastline drifting NNW

Gonna have to take my lightning detector with me I think?! I'll need some early warning while out fishing..

They do seem to be struggling in the channel, the nearer they get to land here, they leave their strikes behind.

Its quite dark but that stormy feeling has disintegrated somewhat... It feels ,much fresher now after a few spots of rain... But I do feel heavy rain is possible.

Slightly concerned that the storms will be out in the Irish Sea after passing over Wales, and just some heavy rain here, still feels muggy, but a breeze has now picked up, but the band must pep up in the east if midlands/NW England areas in the warning are to get a soaking!

At what location near Hereford please?

Moisture needs to throw something up around Worcester for mainland England to have something interesting out of this.

Northern Ireland seem in prime spot tonight.

An amazing thunderstorm here about 40 minutes ago. Such convective dark skies. Scary skies almost. Here are some pictures and short video clip of a strike. As the storm approaches

Amazing for end of March, fingers crossed I might have something in a good few hours!

Indeed, hopefully a taste of the summer to come. I'll take warm days with an evening thunderstorm any day.

Another small cell firing up SE of Derby, the Notts one is still alive but producing nothing currently.

Still under cloud here, looks misty on the horizon, really strange to be honest.
