Storm Chase Tour 1 - Starts This Weekend

It's that time of the year again!

 

Tour 1 of the storm chase begins this weekend, some of the team are already out in the USA setting up (and hopefully doing a bonus chase or two) and then the first guests of the year arrive Saturday with the first proper chase day on Sunday. 

 

As usual the team will be regularly reporting back from the USA and will upload  videos and photos of the chases whenever possible. You'll also be able to watch the action as it happens on the live video stream.

 

The team on tour 1 are:

Arron Hiscox (driver and forecaster)

Ian Michaelwaite (driver and technical)

 

The guests on tour 1 are:

The current outlook is looking pretty good for the first chase day with Texas and Oklahoma and Kansas potentially in the firing line based on this morning's data

Still looking good for chase day 1

 

 

Ian's heading out to the USA today so that'll be the full quota of staff members out there, then the first guests are arriving on Friday prior to the first official day of the chase on Saturday. Sunday is likely to be the first chase day..

 

For the 4 chase virgins on the team it could be a jaw dropping start!!

What time are the last tour 1 guests arriving on Saturday? Hopefully early, because the team may want to hit the road ASAP. Looks like a good start beckons with a few consecutive slight risk days as a positively tilted surface trough is in position stretching from the NE to SW central plains before a ridge builds from the west.

That's good Paul, - so where are they now - in Irving or have they already made route further north?

I think they're in Irving, but are planning a fairly early start this morning - that may have changed since the last time I spoke to them though.
