By late afternoon a few sunny spells developed though heavy showers also built in the area lasting in to the evening with a moderate one here accompanied by several lightening flashes and thunder.

    What a difference a shift to a south easterly wind has made from the slate grey cloud to more broken cloud with some sunshine as a result its feeling warmer today

    Horrible day so far. Any slight rare hint of brightness and the clouds build up straight away giving mostly light rain showers. One of those uninteresting bank holidays weather.
