    Frequently of late when clicking on the link button I get a greyed out screen that only clears by going back a page thus losing the post. Works okay the 2nd time around.

    I can't recreate that at all myself, so I'd think it's likely to be something local - clearing your browser cache is the usual way to fix 99% of these types of things. Let me know if that doesn't work though.
