BBC's Matt Taylor is talking about spectacular lightning displays in the south but not a lot of rain, until later on. Looks like a night time elevated display could be on the cards. Now considering heading south to see some of that before returning tomorrow morning for the fun and games closer to home.

That High pressure to the south and east is really playing havoc with the fronts and low.. Some very intense lifting!

Ohhhhh Things may get pretty damn interesting tonight and the next day or so....

As long as it doesn't cause it to do the classic "I'm tired of this lets cut myself into two and part ways" because I know where the dry gap would end up going  :laugh:

It's tempting isn't it! I thought the same earlier but it is an awfully long way for me and I've had a busy week. I'm hoping I'm already in a good position :)

Just spoke to my dad in st austell, they've had some decent lightning there but it's nearly passed through now, good luck everyone hope we all get the storms we've been hoping for, however I'm disappointed in the downgrade for Exeter on weather pro, no mention of lightning whereas last night it was a level 2!

That made me laugh :rofl:  (sorry its off topic lol)

ha that's hilarious! Made me chuckle

Looks like very light showers starting to break out around London way on radar. Rather ahead of schedule.

This;

post-12721-0-39559900-1402086816_thumb.j

has caught my eye. Wasn't shown earlier today (IIRC) and looks rather noteworthy to say the least for the West Country & CS England.

Looks like my lie in tomorrow morning is going to get cancelled. Think a 05:00 alarm call is needed.

Ha, Yeah.I'm fairly sure that is the normal story. Every year on here, the ramping gets out of control and suddenly everyone's let down when it splits and does nowt :)

That of course, wont happen tonight.. Will it..... WILL IT!
